Week 5: A Note from Coach
Hello SPAR Families,
We did it! We had a whole swim meet! It was so much fun! Thank you!
Swimmer of the Week:
Jordan Richardson and Erin Makosiej are some of the hardest working swimmers on the team. They are determined to improve their swimming technique and strength. The coaches appreciate the kindness and support they show to their teammates.
Focus of the Week:
Mon, June 14th will be a Stroke Clinic with YSSC. YSSC is a year round swim program, based at the Middle Tyger YMCA. From 8:30-9:30am, the coaches will be working with our team.
SPAR Coaches will start pushing the distance a bit. While the technique will still be addressed, swimmers will be swimming longer distances in practices.
The Meet on Thurs:
It is going to be different than this past week. PMP has 200 swimmers. The meet will be longer, the swimmers will have a longer time between their swims. I have a favor to ask of “10 and Under” parents, think about your swimmer and how they will handle the boredom. Consider adding a few more activities to the “bring list”.
Did you know that Swimming Olympic Trials are happening this week? Wave II is occurring in Omaha, Nebraska. If you follow #swimtrials21 - you will get to see the building of the pool as well as current social media posts.
