A Note from Coach, Week 4

Hello Sailfish Parents,

I have to say, last Friday night was a fun time. The weather was exceptional, the swims were fast, and the meet went quick.

I have checked the Brushy Meadows Meet Sign Ups, about 15 swimmers have not declared to swim. Please, Please, Please make sure you do so. The Meet is this Thursday, June 6, 6pm start.

This week we will have 3 afternoon practices, and one morning practice. And the most important part for all swimmers, Donuts and Ribbons on Fri at 9am.

Thur June 6th will be 10 and Unders at 8am, 11 and Ups will be at 9am.  The morning practice will be Mock Meet. Each swimmer who attends will have the opportunity to practice their race.

I do want to let you know that I will not be able to attend the morning practice and Donuts. I have Teacher Workdays to attend. Coach Blake and Coach Greyson will be in charge.

Our focus for the 10 and Under group will be Breaststroke and Butterfly. We will be doing drills and technique work to improve their stroke. Parents, if you feel it will help your swimmer, please take a video of them when they swim.

Our focus for the 11 and Up group will be working on strength and sprint.

Swimmer Thoughts: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger except swim practice, swim practice will kill you.

The unofficial start of summer will be here on Wed. I don't know who is more excited the kiddos or the parents.

Happy Swimming,

Kim Ashworth
